You’ll need minimal equipment and space for these workouts. Plan to use a variety of dumbbell sizes and an exercise mat.

What equipment do I need for virtual classes?You’ll need dumbbells. I suggest a light, medium, and heavy pair to start. As our goal is always to build strength, you should be prepared to acquire a variety of dumbbells at some point. We’ll also use a mini resistance band, aerobic stepper, and a yoga mat, but these are completely optional. You will also need internet and Zoom access to attend live classes.

Where is the studio?1535 Spruce St. Detroit MI 48216. There is an access code to the studio which will be supplied to you once you are registered for a session.

Will we do cardio?Yes! We will incorporate cardio into many workouts, though our primary focus will be strength training.

Will I get bulky if I lift heavy weights?This is a very common fear among women. The average woman looking to get fit has nothing to worry about. That bulky look women tend to fear is caused by nutritional choices and not due to strength training.

Is a meal plan included?No. The Diligent Fitness approach is to teach the basics of sound nutrition so members are equipped to make the best decisions for themselves. Members will learn how simple eating for their goals can be and retain that knowledge for life. These are things meal plans don’t provide.

What if classes are too hard?Sometimes new things feel hard! But modifications for many exercises are offered as an alternative. In all, members are encouraged to move at their own pace and complete the workouts in the ways that work best for them.

Is there a membership contract?No. Memberships can be canceled anytime by logging into your TeamUp account. Please note that membership payments cannot be refunded.

Do I have to register for studio sessions or can I just pop up?The studio is VERY intimate and space is limited. You will need to register on TeamUp for any class you intend to attend. If you fail to register, you may find you come to the studio and there’s no room for you. PLEASE register for class before you arrive. TeamUp even has a mobile app for on-the-go convenience (the link will be in your welcome email upon registration). For full classes, you can join the waitlist and you’ll be notified if you’re in!

What should I do if I register for class but can’t attend?Pretty, pretty please, if you cannot attend class go to the TeamUp app and cancel so someone else can have your spot.

What can I expect in these sessions?What can I expect in these sessions? My coaching is focused primarily on strength training, because building muscle is crucial for weight loss, strengthening bones, and improving overall quality of life. Strength training not only enhances metabolism but also boosts overall health, helping you maintain a healthy weight, prevent osteoporosis, and enjoy a more vibrant, active lifestyle. We’ll work smart to build lean, strong, resilient bodies. It WILL challenge you, but it WILL change you if you’re consistent and dedicated. We’ll add in cardio and conditioning for heart health and overall fitness.

Can I pause my membership if I’m going to be gone for a while?Your membership can be paused for a maximum of 2 weeks once per quarter for travel/vacations/extenuating circumstances. Anything beyond that, please cancel your membership until you are ready to return.

Will you offer more classes in the future?Yes, that’s the plan! I’ll be bringing additional coaches on board to teach additional classes in the near future.

Can other trainers and fitness instructors rent space in the studio?Yes! Certified and INSURED fitness professionals can rent the studio by the hour or per monthly rate to train clients. Shoot an email to carly@diligent-fitness.com if you’ve got clientele you would like to train in the studio.

How do I cancel my membership?You can cancel your membership at ANY time, but just a heads up—memberships are non-refundable. Your membership will automatically renew each month, so when you’re ready to move on, be sure to cancel through your TeamUp account dashboard using a web browser (it won’t work from the mobile app).
